July 03, 2003 : autoless but with friends

There is much to mention about what all has happened over the last couple of days, but I'm at a loss as to what to call it and what to reveal in this online journal. Some of it wouldn't really be fair to the parties invovled, but I can assure you that Eva and I are doing well in this state of uncertainty/certainty and yes, the car is still in Luxemburg. (which is, in all honesty, has been the least of our moments of crisis.) Over the next few months/years (for the rest of our lives perhaps) the past week or so will live on in emphamy as being one of the most gruelling ever. (I hope it isn't surpassed in stress anytime soon.)

And much has happened! Not all of it bad, as yesterday my website and transmedia in general was featured in the cultural section of one of Belgium's prestigious newspapers. I was expecting a blurb about the size of a pencil erasure, and giggled in surprise and embarrasment when I saw that it was quite large. :)

I also planned yesterday for all of the siblings to go out to dinner (myself included) though I'm obviously not a part of "the family" I might as well be. We went to Grill House 77 and though Eva didn't initially want to go (she was too tired) by the end of the dinner she was glad she did.

But today, well the story got worse and worse. Just when we thought everything was smoothing out, it seemed to take a strange turn. (to be expected, I suppose) Since we're car-less and needing to catch up on the life of our friend Marc, I begged him to help us transport some shoes to the exhibition space in Borgerhout in return for a dinner of pork enchiladas (which just might have been the best I've ever made...). Just to prove the fact that Eva really is exhausted and "can't take much more of this" she actually was able to fall asleep during the 20 minute ride. I know, as I've been there and am prone to sleep at the drop of a hand when being in a car, that she's really tired. Thank god friday is her last day of work! (then, by George we're leaving too.)

We decided to drop Eva off at home and let her get some rest (not that she rested really, but at least she was home) and Marc and I ate ice-cream, coffee, and huge hunks of cheese (not all at one time, but during the stretch of our conversation) and pretty much had a great time together.

He was kind enough to return me to my house and I vowed to keep him updated on all of the events oribiting around Eva's family unit. (minus her father, plus me)
