We sleep like stacked towels
eat like empty barrels
touch like adulterers on a train
though sometimes as old cats
sleeping as pipes with sand–
We speak like woven cotton letters
to an ear

THIRTY SOMETHING
Currently I lecture in design at the Waikato Institute of Technology. A print-trained graphic designer from a small Midwestern American town, I now reside in Hamilton, New Zealand after extensive travel stateside and several years spent in Antwerp, Belgium. The continued theme most often at work in my own projects is ‘text’. I’m currently exploring how text can operate as both vehicle and visual and how it can perpetuate or offer suggestions of meaning.
