A fringe event for Spark ’08 – International festival of media, arts and design

This presentation is about numerical information attached to time, with the dubious title a reference to an apparent black hole in Google’s caches. With our suspicion of the internet waxing and waning in regards to its authority and legitimacy, it’s easy to imagine finding references to almost anything. Likewise, as an information and media-centric culture, statistics are open for interpretation; thrown around to not only scare people into action but to numb them with their inherit demand for attention.
